NORCROSS, Ga. – Spring Hill College starter Caroline Sagrera was named the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 1-8, 2013 for her consecutive shutout performances at the University of Mobile on Saturday. Spring Hill defeated the Lady Rams 6-0 and 1-0 in eight innings.

Sagrera, a freshman from Baton Rouge, La., struck out 27 Lady Rams in 15 innings and increased her NAIA-leading strikeout total to 247 victims. The right-hander is now 20-3 on the season with a 1.29 ERA over 152.0 innings pitched. Sagrera has 11 shutouts with a no-hitter and 18 complete-games so far in 2013. Opponents are hitting just .151 against her

The 24th-ranked Badgers (28-8, 8-5 SSAC West) will visit 10th-ranked William Carey University (26-9, 12-4 SSAC West) in Hattiesburg, Miss., at Fail Field beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
