Jennifer "Jip" Cunningham Crochet passed away early Sunday morning, August 11, in Houma, La., due to injuries sustained in a car accident. Crochet (nee' Cunningham) was a two-time NAIA All-America softball pitcher at Spring Hill College in 1998 and 1999.

Crochet still holds numerous career pitching records at SHC including most wins (50), most complete games (58), most shutouts (26) and most strikeouts (585). In 1998, she won national recognition as an NAIA Pitcher of Week – one of only two Softball Badgers ever to earn the accolade.

Funeral services were held Wednesday with burial in Rogers Cemetery in Houma. She is survived by her husband, Sean Crochet; son, Kody Crochet (9); daughter, Lily Crochet (4); parents, Vernon and Billie Cunningham; brother, Vernon Cunningham Jr. and wife, Melissa Cunningham; sister, Jeannie Boquet and husband, Troy Boquet; and grandfathers, Bobby Danford and John Austin.
