Spring Hill College softball head coach Alison Sellers-Cook has announced the signing of third baseman Lea Kittrell from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) and George Co. High School.

At GCHS, Kittrell was a four year All-Division selection and a three-time All-State player.

As a freshman at MGCCC, she was named the team's Best Defensive Award winner and was named to the All-State squad. Kittrell repeated as an All-State selection her sophomore year with a .387 batting average including 58 hits and 42 runs scored that also earned her a slot on the All-Region roster.

"Lea will be a huge contributor to our offense," said Sellers Cook. "She's also an awesome addition to our infield defense."

Kittell struck out just eight times in 150 at bats as a sophomore while driving in 30 RBI with 17 doubles and three homeruns for an impressive .560 slugging percentage over 44 games played.
