MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's cross country team finished in 6th position out of 7 teams at the at the Montevallo Falcon Classic hosted by the University of Montevallo on Saturday morning.
As a team, the Badgers scored 150 points and ran a total time of 2:21:04.51 in an average time of 28:12.91 over the 6.1-kilometer course.
Individually, senior Emily Dolan from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile placed 17th out of 55 runners in her personal best time and the fifth best Spring Hill women's 6-kilomter time ever at 25:54.08. Fellow senior Anna DeWine of Cedarville, Ohio, also posted her personal best time and the 11th best SHC time of 27:11.00 for 29th place.
Sophomore Katie Dolan also from McGill-Toolen continued the Badger streak of personal bests with the school's 12th best time in 27:18.82 for 31st place while senior Claire Stewart from Mt. Juliet, Tenn., came in at 36th place in a time of 28:20.45 for a 20-second improvement over her time last week in Clinton, Miss.
Freshman Amie Gilbert of Baton Rouge, La., shaved a minute off her time of last week with a mark of 32:20.16 for 45th place and her classmate Holly Gibbens of Hendersonville, Tenn., notched a time of 32:44.45 for 46th place.
Spring Hill next runs on Saturday, October 19, at the Mississippi College Choctaw Open at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss., beginning at 8:30 a.m.
