GREENWOOD, Ind. – Spring Hill College runner Jordan Travis was selected as a member of the Capital One Academic All-District® Team in Men's Track & Field and Cross Country for District 1 (College Division) as announced by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) on Thursday afternoon.

A sophomore from Poplarville, Miss., Travis was a member of the 2012 SSAC All-Conference & All-Freshmen teams and SHC representative on 2013 Musco Lighting-SSAC Champions of Character Team. He holds five of the Top 30 men's 5-kilometer times in the SHC men's cross country record book including the second best time in the school's history with a 26:47.73 mark on November 9, 2013 at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss.

This track & field season Travis was the first male SHC sprinter to qualify for the NAIA National Outdoor Championships in two-year history of program with a school record 1:52.78 800-meter time at the FSU Twilight Invitational.  At the NAIA National Championships, he finished 16th of 34 in a time of 1:53.42.

With selection to the All-District Team, Travis now automatically moves into nomination for the Capital One Academic All-America Award® as voted upon by the CoSIDA membership.
