KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Spring Hill College softball team finished the 2014 season ranked as the No. 12 team in the final NAIA Coaches' Poll of the year as released on Wednesday afternoon. The Badgers fell five spots from their No. 7 perch in the previous poll.

Spring Hill (42-14) tallied 359 total votes following a season in which they won the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) West Division's regular season title and the SSAC Tournament Championship.

Four other SSAC teams joined SHC in the Top 25 as NAIA World Series Champion Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) claimed the top spot at No. 1, National Runner-Up William Carey University jumped from No. 10 to No. 2, Belhaven University dropped two places to No. 17 and Brenau University slipped two spots to  No. 23. The University at Mobile also received five votes.

The NAIA poll is voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, independent and unaffiliated groupings.
