KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2014 NAIA Baseball All-America teams as selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (NAIA-BCA) All-America Selection Committee and Spring Hill College (SHC) junior outfielder Taylor Eads was named to the 2nd team roster.
Eads led the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) with 13 home runs this year while also leading SHC with a .423 batting average and a .744 slugging percentage. He smacked 11 doubles and two triples while stealing 3-of-5 bases and drawing 34 walks. Eads started 50 games for the Badgers in the 2014 season and appeared in all three outfield positions while fielding at a .969 percentage.
On the national level, Eads appeared on nine NAIA Top 50 lists at the end of the 2014 season, including No. 3 in home runs per game (0.26), No. 5 in slugging percentage, No. 7 in home runs, and No. 7 in total bases per game (2.5).
Hailing from Slidell, La., Eads is the first SHC baseball player to earn All-America status since Blake Stein appeared on the list following the 1993 season.
