Women's Tennis - Mon, Apr. 20, 2009
On Saturday, the Spring Hill College women's tennis team forfeited its match at Tougaloo College due to a transportation break down, but rebounded to defeat Belhaven College 4-1 in a rain-shortened match.

In the match with Belhaven, Spring Hill was leading 2-1 after doubles with wins on the Nos. 2 and 3 courts.  In singles, Abbey Angelle and Gina Pambianchi defeated Belhaven's (6-10, 2-6 GCAC) Mary Khris Young and Rebecca Riley to secure the win as the rains stopped play.

The Spring Hill women (4-4, 4-4 GCAC) will next face Mobile (11-4, 5-3 GCAC) in the second round of the GCAC Women's Tennis Tournament this weekend at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center with a bid to the NAIA National Tournament on the line.
