 Allison Akers, Forward

Head Coach Adam Pearce and the Spring Hill College Athletics Department announced the signing of Allison Akers of Houston, Texas, to the Lady Badgers soccer team on Monday afternoon.  A forward from St. Agnes in Houston, Akers was her school's leading goal scorer in 2006-07.

"We're proud to have Allison joining our program," commented Pearce.  "She's an excellent athlete and scorer who will be a valuable addition.  She also excels in the classroom which is what we look for at Spring Hill."

Among the honors accumulated in her prep career, Akers was selected 2nd Team All State in 2007-08 and 1st Team All District along with Honorable Mention All State in 2006-07.  She also appeared on the 1st Team All Greater Houston City squad and on the TAPPS All State Tournament team in 2006-07.  For the 2005-'06 campaign, she was Honorable Mention All District.

Currently, Akers plays Division 1 Club Soccer with the West University Express 90.

Away from the playing field, Akers' grades have ranked "honors" at St. Agnes every semester except one throughout her high school career.  She was awarded the "St. Agnes Tiger Award for Soccer" for her skill, spirit and sportsmanship, the highest award given by the school in athletics.
