Spring Hill got three points from Daniel Li while Chris Link added three more by default Friday in a 7-2 men's tennis victory over Tougaloo in the opening round of Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) Tournament at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center.

 
The victory advanced the Badgers (3-7) to a 3 p.m. Friday semifinal against top-seeded and two-time defending champion Xavier.
 
Li and Link defeated Kahil Peets and Antonio Thames 8-6 at No. 1 doubles.  Li beat Peets 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Link defeated Meschack Barker 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
 
Tougaloo (1-9) had just four available players and was forced to forfeit matches at No. 3 doubles and No. 5 and 6 singles.
 
Spring Hill will play Xavier (#1 seed) in the semifinals at 3 p.m. Friday.

No. 1 - Daniel Li (SHC) d. Kahil Peets (TC) 6-4, 6-0.
No. 2 - Chris Link (SHC) d. Meschack Barker (TC) 6-3, 6-1.
No. 3 - Antonio Thames (TC) d. Grant Benoit (SHC), 6-3, 6-2.
No. 4 - Damien Kohn (TC) d. DeMarco Wills (SHC) 6-2, 7-5.
No. 5 - Nick Rayburn (SHC) won by default.
No. 6 - Jason Price (SHC) won by default.
 
Doubles
No. 1 - Daniel Li-Chris Link (SHC) d. Kahil Peets-Antonio Thames (TC) 8-6.
No. 2 - Johnny Ngamvilay-Nick Rayburn (SHC) d. Cillora Hicks-Rukiya Umoja (TC) 8-6.
No. 3 - Jimmy Chassaing-Jason Price (TC) won by default.
   
Order of Finish: Doubles - 3, 1, 2. Singles - 5, 6, 2, 1, 3, 4.
Clinching Match: Tougaloo's default of two singles matches gave Spring Hill a 5-0 lead.
Records: Spring Hill (#4 seed) 3-7, Tougaloo (#5 seed) 1-9.
