The Spring Hill College Athletic Department has named Ryan Cummings and Lynne Fritscher as its Athletes of the Week for their performances in purple during the week of April 20-26, 2009.

Cummings, a product of Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, enjoyed a perfect 3-for-3 outing in Spring Hill's 11-9 upset of 18th-ranked LSU Shreveport on Saturday.  The red-shirt freshman shortstop also drove in two RBIs and scored a run.  For the year, Cummings holds a .316 average with 38 RBIs and four homeruns.

Fritscher, a native of Covington, La., was undefeated in singles play during the 2009 Women's Tennis season with a perfect 6-0 record and she collected three 6-0, 6-0 victories.  She lost just one of the 12 sets she played this season.  On Friday, Lynne was named All GCAC by the conference coaches.
