Kiara Parker, a 5'7" guard from Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., has announced plans to transfer from the University of West Alabama (UWA) to Spring Hill College at the end of the spring semester.
Parker played in all 28 UWA games with three starts in 2008-09. She scored 84 points and pulled in 53 rebounds for the Tigers. Parker also tallied 13 steals while shooting 39.2% (31-79) from the field.
She prepped at Ft. Walton Beach High School under Coach Holly McDaniel where she lettered three seasons and was 1st team All-Region in both her junior and senior seasons.
"Kiara is extremely competitive and will give us a boost at the guard position," said SHC Head Coach Ray Fron. "I expect her to have an immediate impact on our team."
The daughter of LeQuita and Keith Parker, Kiara is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
