The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) All Tournament Softball team was released on Tuesday and three Spring Hill College Lady Badgers were selected to the squad.  The conference coaches chose Lauren Crane, Brittany Abate and Samantha Brooks as among the best to play in the 2009 tournament.
A freshman pitcher and outfielder from Houma, La., Crane batted .214 on the year with 14 RBI.  On the mound, she took home five wins with 44 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.00.
Abate, a junior pitcher and utility player from Lake Charles, La., hit .279 on the season with 12 RBI and 11 runs scored.  On the mound, she finished the year with an ERA of 3.61 and 46 strikeouts in a team leading 25 appearances.

Samantha Brooks played in the outfield and also pitched for the Lady Badgers.  A sophomore from Belle Chasse, La., she led Spring Hill with eight wins, 75 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.72 over 126 innings pitched.  She also collected 10 hits and an RBI at the plate.
