The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that Spring Hill College's Allison Symulevich of Tampa, Fla., has been named a 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete in Women's Tennis.
Symulevich, a 5'8" junior, has a dual major in Political Science and Hispanic Studies with a minor in Finance. She finished the 2009 season with a 3-4 record in No. 1 doubles play and a 2-4 record in No. 1 singles competition.
This year 121 women's tennis players were named 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Student-athletes must be nominated by their head coach, have achieved junior academic status and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
