The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that Spring Hill College's Nick Rayburn of Pineville, La., and Jimmy Chassaing of St. Louis, Mo., have been named 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes in Men's Tennis.
 
Rayburn, a junior who holds a dual major in Political Science and History, finished 2009 with a 5-5 record at No. 2 doubles and a 3-4 record in No. 4 singles.
 
Chassaing, a senior, wrapped up his career on The Hill with a 4-4 record in No. 3 doubles and a 2-4 record at No. 3 singles play.
 
This year 86 men's tennis players were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.  Student-athletes must be nominated by their head coach, have achieved junior academic status and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
