The Spring Hill College women's cross-country team announced the signing of Eileen V. Jorns of Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School to a Letter of Intent on Monday.
Jorns has earned six varsity letters in lacrosse, basketball, cross-country and track and was recognized as the 2009 Athlete of the Year in cross-country and track at McGill-Toolen. Before transferring to McGill in 2007, she was named honorable mention All-Met in lacrosse for the Washington DC Metropolitan Area at Bishop D.J. O'Connell High School in Arlington, Va.
Among her numerous extra-curricular activities, Jorns has coached youth basketball, facilitated high school retreats and participated in fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation where she personally raised nearly $12,000 for research.
The daughter of Col. and Mrs. Byron Jorns, Eileen is an honor student and a 2008 graduate of the Alabama Governor's School. She served as Chapter President of the National Honor Society during her senior year at McGill as well as a McGill-Toolen High School Ambassador. She has appeared on the Principal's List in all four years of her prep career.
