The Spring Hill College women's soccer team suffered its third consecutive shutout with a 2-0 downturn at the hands of NCAA Division II opponent Nova Southeastern University at Library Field on Sunday afternoon.
NSU (3-1) opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a goal by Elizabeth Brauher that ricocheted off the hands of SHC goalkeeper Emma Pitchford, hit the crossbar and then landed in the back of the net.
Danielle Granholm added a second goal in the 73rd minute with a right-to-left shot past Pitchford that found the lower left corner of the goal.
The Badgers managed just six shots attempts while the Sharks from Florida made 11 shots attempts.
Each squad tried three corner kicks in the contest.
Pitchford collected three saves and NSU keeper Sarah Glass had one save.
Spring Hill (2-3) will next play at St. Thomas University (Fla.) on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in Thomasville, Ga., in the opening round of the Thomas University (Ga.) Invitational.
