The Spring Hill College women's golf team opened the 2009-10 season by winning the Alabama State University Fall Classic at the Lagoon Park Golf Course in Montgomery, Ala.

The Lady Badgers shot a combined 338 on Monday and finished Tuesday's final round with a 327 for a winning score of 665.

Individually, Blake Wagner shot an 83 in Day 1 and then shaved six strokes off her score on Tuesday to shoot a 77 tallying a final (+16) 160 finishing in 3rd place.

Sophomore Annmarie Coan of St. Louis, Mo., shot a 85, 82, 167 (+23) total, senior Shea Bowers from Mobile's Murphy High collected a 2-day total of 84, 84, 168 (+24), junior Vickie Gonzalez from Miami, Fla., shot 86, 84, 170 (+25) and senior Kim Penix from Pelham, Ala., came in with a 183 (+38).

The Lady Badgers next play in Birmingham, Ala., at the Ann Rhodes Invitational hosted by Birmingham-Southern College on September 28-29.
