The Spring Hill College men's cross-country team finished 8th of 11 teams at the Gulf Coast Stampede hosted by the University of West Florida on Saturday morning. The Badgers placed second among GCAC teams in attendance.
As a team, the Badgers' top five runners clocked a total time of 2:29:52 over the 8-kilometer course and tallied a total of 240 points with an average time of 29:58.40.
Xavier University (La.) was the top GCAC finisher at 2:22:46.90. Loyola University (La.), the University of Mobile and Dillard University also competed.
Individually, sophomore Will Kirkikis from Kenner, La. placed 48th with a time of 28:57.00 paced the Badgers.
Other SHC runners included sophomore Christian Boyer (55th) from Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School at 30:05, freshman Ben Pace (60th) from Dallas, Texas, at 30:13, senior Mark Kirkikis (61st) from Kenner at 30:17, sophomore Brian Otero (62nd) from Miami, Fla., at 30:20, freshman Thomas Kinsey (66th) from Fairhope High at 30:33, freshman Garrett Schumacher (74th) from Spanish Fort High at 31:45, freshman Bryan Dulion (86th) from Pensacola, Fla., at 36:38, and junior Robbie Farrell (89th) from McGill-Toolen at 39:16.
SHC next runs at the Mississippi College Choctaw Open in Clinton, Miss., on Saturday, October 17.
