Timothy Gressett has been named head golf professional of the Spring Hill College Golf Course. The course re-opens to the public October 15 following a complete restoration of the course greens and a remodeling of the clubhouse and dining area.
A golfer for 44 years, Gressett has been a golfing professional for 22 years and a member of the Professional Golfers' Association for 19 years. He served as the head golf professional at Quail Creek Golf Course in Fairhope, Ala., since 2006, and at Tiger Point Golf & Country Club in Gulf Breeze, Fla., from 2002 to 2005. He has also been a professional golfer on the Southeast Senior Tour.
Gressett has worked in all areas of golf course management, including golf cart fleet management, pro shop retail sales, driving range, restaurant management, organizing and running tournaments and league play, supervising starter/marshals, maintaining handicap system, controlling tee times, and updating membership software.
Gressett has served as tournament chairman, vice president, secretary and treasurer of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the PGA. The chapter named him 1999 Golf Professional of the Year and the 2003 Bill Strausbaug Award Winner. He was named 2003 Merchandiser of the Year of Meadowbrook Golf at Tiger Point Golf & Country Club. Gressett served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1971 to 1977.
