The Spring Hill College Golf Course will re-open on Thursday, October 15, 2009. The course was closed to the public on July 13 to allow for renovations and improvements, including replacing the greens.
The greens have been replaced with a new ultra dwarf hybrid grass called Champion Bermuda. This turf provides an exceptional true putting surface for the beginner as well as the most experienced golfer.
In addition to the new greens, golfers will return to a refurbished clubhouse and dining area and the return of the famous "Badger Burger", a 100% all- Angus beef burger about which players and guests rave.
The golf course is Mobile's oldest public golf course and has been serving the greater Mobile area since 1930. It is an 18-hole, par 72 course located on the campus of Spring Hill College. Facilities include a pro shop and the dining and picnic area. For more information on the course call (251) 380-4655 or visit the Web at www.springhillcollegegolf.com
