The Spring Hill College Badgers lost a non-conference match to Concordia College-Selma by a 1-0 score on Saturday afternoon.
The Hornets (12-2-2) scored off a Brent Pierre header in the 27th minute of the match and then held off repeated offensive chances by the Badgers.
Junior SHC goalkeeper Cory Bronenkamp made five saves versus 11 Concordia shot attempts while the Hornet's Akil Benjamin made 11 saves against 19 SHC shot attempts.
Concordia took four corner kicks and Spring Hill made five attempts from the corner.
The Hornets committed 21 fouls to just five by the Badgers.
The Badgers suffered their eighth shutout of the 2009 campaign in the loss.
Spring Hill (3-12) will travel to Montgomery on Sunday to play Huntingdon College (3-11) at 3 p.m. The women's teams will also face off beginning at 1 p.m.
