Senior Melissa Williams now has 2,088 digs in her career

Earlier this month, Spring Hill College senior libero Melissa Williams passed the 2,000 digs mark in her career and currently holds a total of 2088 digs.
 
On October 10, Williams, a resident of Fairhope, Ala., collected 20 digs in a 3-1 Badger victory over Brewton-Parker College to push her career total to 2008 digs over her 4-year career at SHC.
 
As a freshman, Williams tallied 225 digs in 2006 and she added 689 digs to her totals in 2007.  In her junior year of 2008, she tacked 773 digs to her stats and so far in 2009 Williams has 401 digs from her libero position.
 
The 2008 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) Libero of the Year, Williams was named the GCAC Libero of the Week an incredible seven consecutive weeks to open the 2009 season.
 
On several occasions throughout her career, Williams has passed the 40-dig mark in matches with her career-high being 45 digs on August 29, 2008, versus Northwood (Fla.) University.
 
Over the past three seasons, Williams has appeared in 318 sets with 64 kills, 77 service aces, 23 assists, 1,644 receptions and five total blocks.
 
An Elementary Education major, Williams was a member of the GCAC Academic Honor Roll in her sophomore and junior seasons.
