The Spring Hill College men's soccer team fell to the LSU-Shreveport Pilots by a 3-1 score in the opening round of the GCAC Tournament on Tuesday afternoon at H.T Newell Field in Jackson, Miss.
The Badgers (5-14) fell behind 2-0 early when LSUS forward Marcus Carrillo scored in the 10th minute followed by a Zach Kelly goal in the 26th minute.
Spring Hill answered back quickly in the second period when sophomore forward Gable Fortune from St. Louis, Mo., drilled a shot down the middle of the goal in the 46th minute.
LSUS (5-7-1) cemented the game away in the 72nd minute when Chance Naderi scored on a breakaway opportunity.
Junior keeper Corey Bronenkamp of St. Louis, Mo., took the loss with four saves against 15 LSUS shot-attempts, finishing the year with a 5-9 record in goal.
Rogerio Celaya was the winning keeper for the Pilots with two saves against five SHC shot-attempts.
