Lady Badgers Pass Along Lessons at EMES
Women's Basketball - Wed, Nov. 4, 2009
On October 23, the Spring Hill College women's basketball team made a presentation to the Eichold-Mertz Elementary School 4th Grade Class on the five core character values taught by the NAIA's Champions of Character program.

Spring Hill's women stressed the importance of the five core character values encompassed by the Champions of Character program which are integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.

The Champions of Character values help young people - and those associated with their development - make good choices in all aspects of their life and reflect the true spirit of competition.  Inherent to the Champions of Character process is the belief that character is handed down from one generation to the next. When those who provide athletic opportunities are willing to commit to character-driven athletics and put the athlete first, both the game and society overall benefit.

Following the presentation, the Lady Badgers conducted a basketball mini-clinic and donated basketballs to the EMES Physical Education Department.  SHC Head Coach Ray Fron said, "This was a great day for the kids and our student-athletes.  We'd like to thank Donna Marsh, the Physical Education teacher at EMES for helping organize the event and for her undying enthusiasm."
