Senior Melissa Williams and junior Cassandra Marchand were named to 2009 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) All-Conference Volleyball team on Friday as selected by the conference coaches.

Williams, a defensive specialist from Fairhope, Ala., was named the 2009 GCAC Libero of the Year for the second consecutive season.  For the year, Williams played in all 77 sets of the 2009 season and collected 459 digs (5.96 digs per set) with 458 receptions.  She also handed out 21 service aces, 13 assists and 13 kills.  Over her 4-year career, Williams made over 2,100 digs for the Lady Badgers.

Marchand (left), an outside hitter from Grand Bay, Ala., led the Badgers with 201 kills for a 2.72 kills per set average.  She also tallied 196 digs, 22 total blocks, 16 service aces, and five assists in 2009.
