The Spring Hill College men's basketball team upset No. 20 Auburn University Montgomery on Monday night 82-70 in a game postponed a week due to Tropical Storm Ida.

SHC jumped out early with a big 14-4 advantage and held off several frantic AUM comeback attempts before sealing the game.

All five starters for the Badgers recorded double-digit performances in a game that at times resembled a track meet more than a basketball game.  Senior Marcus Coleman of Wilmer, Ala., scored a game-high 26 points to come up just one point shy of his career record.  When he wasn't making one of his six 3-point baskets on the night, he was dishing to a teammate for one of his six assists.

Junior center Nick Brown of Rota, Spain, enjoyed some freedom under the basket due to Coleman's hot hand from the outside and scored 14 points with 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.

Senior forward Owen McNally of Long Beach, Miss., poured in 15 points and sophomore guard Chris Dees, Jr., added 11 points.  Sophomore forward Antonio Burch also added 10 points.

Four Senators (2-3) reached double-digits led by Charles Perona from Tuskegee, Ala., with 16 points.

As a team, the Badgers out-rebounded the Senators by a 37-34 margin and out-shot the visitors 58.8% (30-51) to 40.6% (26-64).

From the 3-point arc the Badgers canned 9 of 19 (47.4%) attempts while AUM made just 2 of 9 attempts (22.2%).

The Badgers (2-0) will next travel down Old Shell Road on Thursday night for a tussle with the University of South Alabama beginning at 7 p.m.  The women's teams will meet at 5 p.m.
