The Spring Hill College women's basketball team took a 66-57 victory at Concordia College-Selma to complete a season sweep of the Hornets on Monday evening.
SHC jumped out 13-point lead at 16-29 with six minutes remaining in the first half and took a 33-25 lead into halftime.
Concordia (1-10) answered with a second half run and managed to take 43-42 lead with nine minutes remaining. The Lady Badgers re-took the lead and held on with crucial free throws over the final five minutes.
Kristin Rogers scored 20 points for Spring Hill while Robynetta Hargrave and Kristi Ybarra each dropped in 16 for the Badgers. Hargrave had 11 rebounds and Rogers pulled in 10 boards.
The Hornets were paced by Deshawn Butler with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Overall, the Badgers shot 35.3% (24-68) from the field and 11.1% (2-18) from 3-point land. Concordia shot 32.4% (23-71) and 3-18 (16.7%) from long distance.
Spring Hill (2-8) will next open Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play versus William Carey University (3-6) on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
