The Spring Hill College Volleyball Badgers added Meredith Donald of Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School to their growing list of signees on Wednesday morning.
The 5'4" 1st team All-State libero led her team with
827 digs and passed the ball with a 95% efficiency rating. Donald recorded double-digit digs in all 41 matches of her senior season and took in more than 20 digs on eight occasions including a season-high 26 digs versus St. Paul's Episcopal School.
Donald was a member of the 2009 All Metro 1st team and was also selected a 1st team member of the All Region squad. She won recognition as both the Kiwanis Club Player of the Week and Mobile Press-Register Player of the Week while also being named an "Out of Nowhere" Player of Month.
A product of Coach Gretchen Boykin's McGill-Toolen system, Donald should make an immediate impact for SHC Head Coach Peggy Martin. "Meredith's signing eases some of the pain of losing senior Missy Williams to graduation," Martin says. "She is a great defensive player with the kind of enthusiasm for the game that you need in the libero position. Meredith is a tremendous person and will be an awesome addition to the Badger program. She's another member of this year's recruiting class who knows how to win and will bring the intangibles to our program."
