Senior guard Marcus Coleman broke into the Spring Hill College 1,500 Points Club on Thursday night with an 18-point performance in the Badgers' 76-71 home upset of No. 23 Belhaven University. Coleman has now scored 1,512 points in his 4-year career at SHC and ranks as the 12th leading scorer in school history.
This season Coleman ranks as the top NAIA 3-point shooter by averaging 4.333 treys per night and he ranks second in the nation in made 3-pointers with 104 successful buckets from beyond the arc.
Long distance shooting is not the only skill processed by the Wilmer, Ala., native. This year he has handing out 4.25 assists per game while scoring 17.042 points and pulling down 3.1 rebounds each night.
Coleman already holds the Spring Hill career record for made 3-point field goals (378) and 3-points field goal attempts (903) and set the school's single-season mark for 3-point baskets as a sophomore in the 2007-08 season with 115 3-point buckets.
