Head Coach Adam Pearce and the Spring Hill College Athletics Department announced the signing of forward Gable Fortune from Chaminade College Preparatory School in St. Louis, Mo., to the Badgers men's soccer team on Thursday morning.
Pearce commented, "Gable is a solid young man with a very good high school and club soccer background. The year-round competition in the level at which he has consistently played should make his transition to college soccer very smooth. Gable has good pace that he uses well as an attack-minded player. He will be a great addition to the Badgers in 2008."
Fortune's Chaminade team finished the 2006 year ranked fourth nationally and won the Missouri State Championship in 2006. His 2007 squad opened the 2007 season ranked No. 1 in the nation. Fortune played club soccer for the Saint Louis Soccer Club (formerly Busch Soccer Club) and participated in the Midwest Regional League. Off the pitch, he has been involved in the CCPS Leadership Council, the Earth Club, as well as Habitat for Humanity.
