MOBILE, Ala. - The Spring Hill College softball team took a 6-0 loss against Lindsey Wilson College at the University of Mobile Classic on Sunday afternoon.
LWC scored runs in the 1st and 3rd innings to take a 2-0 lead into the 6th where SHC put runners on the corners with no outs. Unfortunately for the Badgers, a ground ball to short that could not advance the runner home was followed by a strikeout and another grounder to short that ended the rally.
Lindsey Wilson added a 4-run 6th inning that included three unearned runs.
Sam Brooks (2-3) took the complete-game loss for the Badgers giving up 10 hits, with no walks and a strikeout. Monica Zeringue and Ersy Pacheco had one hit each for Spring Hill.
Anyibell Ramirez was the winner in 4.2 innings pitched allowing just two hits with two walks and 10 strikeouts. Morgan Paschall picked up the save in 2.1 innings of work with no hits, no walks and four strikeouts. Ally Goniea collected three hits while Jordan Gilland had two hits and two RBI for the Blue Raiders.
Spring Hill (5-7, 2-0 GCAC) will face 8th rated Martin Methodist College (8-3) in a doubleheader on Monday at 2 p.m. on Murray Field.
