Spring Hill College swept the weekly Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) awards as Sam Brooks was named the GCAC Pitcher of the Week and Ersy Pacheco was named the GCAC Player of the Week for their performances on the diamond during the week of March 1-7, 2010.
Brooks, a junior from Belle Chasse, La., pitched back-to-back wins in the Badgers' upset over No. 19 Notre Dame College on Wednesday. She won the first game 1-0 in a complete-game victory allowing just six hits with a walk and six strikeouts.  Brooks then came back into the second game in the second inning with the game tied a 4 runs apiece and led the Badgers to a 7-6 win in six innings with one earned run, seven hits, one walk and two strikeouts.
Pacheco, a junior from Venezuela, had 10 hits in 11 at-bats (.909) in two wins over Notre Dame and a 19-0 Badger win over Dillard on Friday. She scored five runs and drove in six more with four doubles and a homerun for a slugging percentage of 1.545.
The Badgers will host Park University (Mo.) on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Murray Field.
