The Spring Hill College baseball team took the first game of a 3-game weekend set at Tougaloo College by a score of 17-6 on Friday afternoon.
David Dupuy (3-4) was the winner allowing eight hits and three runs in four innings of work before being relieved by Jeff Keenum who finished out the final three innings of the game that was shortened to seven innings due to the 10-run "Mercy Rule." Keenum allowed three runs off five hits.
At the plate, the Badgers' Bobby Voss was a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs scored and four RBIs. Brad Holstein collected two hits and drove in four runs for Spring Hill.
Ryan Cummings, Andy McCall, Justin Harrison and Ryan Nelson each added two hits to the Badger totals with McCall breaking the SHC single season record for triples with his sixth 3-bagger of the year. McCall's triple also tied him with teammate Ryan Hall for the Badger career record for triples with nine apiece.
Spring Hill (21-16, 12-11 GCAC) will wrap up its season series with the Bulldogs (2-31, 1-19 GCAC) in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
