Spring Hill College's Ryan Cummings repeated as the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference's Player of the Week in baseball as selected by the Sports Information Directors of the member institutions for his outstanding performance during the week of April 12-18, 2010.
Cummings, a sophomore shortstop from Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, was 12-for-18 and drove in seven runs this past week, including a 5-for-6 outing in the second game of a Saturday doubleheader at the University of Mobile. He also hit for the cycle on the week with a double, triple and homerun in his totals.
He is currently the leading hitter in the NAIA with 85 total hits and broke the Spring Hill College record for hits in a single season (85) over the weekend. Currently, he's hitting .467 with 47 runs scored, 12 doubles, five triples, five homeruns and 48 runs batted in. He is slugging at a .670 rate and 9-for-11 in stolen bases in this season.
