The Spring Hill College men's golf team opened the second round of play at the 2010 NAIA Men's Golf National Championships on TPC at Deere Run on Wednesday morning and finished with a +93 score of 661 (330, 331).
After 36 holes the Badgers remained mired in final position out of 29 teams and did not help their cause by building a +47 team score for the day.
Senior Will Loweth of Houston, Texas, rebounded from a +12 outing on Tuesday to card a +8 on Wednesday and closed out the day standing at +20 (83, 79, 162).
Junior Chuck Balsamico of Covington, La., carded a total score of 165 (80, 85, +23).
Junior Javier Portal of Miami, Fla., finished with a +25 (83, 84, 167).
Eddie Smith, a junior from Houston, turned in his second consecutive +13 performance to finish at 168 (84, 84 +26).
Freshman Joseph Webster from Trussville, Ala., shaved off a stroke from his previous day's total to finish at +27 (85, 84, 169).
Spring Hill will tee off in the 4-day event's third round on Thursday morning.
