Spring Hill College senior women's tennis player Allison Symulevich was selected as a first team member of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District At-Large Team for District 4 (College Division) as announced by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) on Thursday morning.
Graduating from SHC with a 4.0 GPA in Political Science & Hispanic Studies, Symulevich was recognized by the national organization of sports information directors for her outstanding academic and athletic achievements over her 4-year career with the Badgers. As a first team All-District selection, the Tampa, Fla., native is automatically nominated for the CoSIDA Academic All America® team that will be voted on by the CoSIDA membership next week.
The award recognizes athletes holding a career GPA of 3.3 or higher while at the same time making significant on-field contributions to their team.
Symulevich was chosen 2010 All-Conference at the No. 4 Singles position following a year in which she collected a 15-1 record in singles play. Symulevich was the lone senior on the SHC women's tennis roster this season and a 3-time GCAC Academic Honor Roll member and a 2-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete.
