Spring Hill College Head Softball Coach Alison Sellers-Cook today announced the signing of Baker High School product Jenny Laird to an Athletic Grant in Aid.
 
Laird transferred to Spring Hill following her sophomore season at Jones County (Miss.) Junior College where she hit .455 with an on-base percentage of .528. In the 2010 season, she collected 56 hits including four homeruns, 18 doubles and 31 RBI. She walked 17 times and scored 18 runs.
 
Following the season, Laird was named a 1st team selection to the All-Conference, All-Region and JUCO All-State teams in Mississippi.
 
She spent her freshman year at NCAA Division III Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss., where she hit .365 with a .446 on-base percentage. In the field, Laird carried a .981 fielding percentage.
 
At Baker, Laird was a 4-time All-County selection and won State Championships in 2005 and 2007. She won three consecutive Gold Glove Awards from 2006 to 2008 and was selected the Baker Offensive MVP in 2007.
