CLEVELAND, Ga. - The Spring Hill College women's soccer team lost a non-conference road match to Truett-McConnell College 2-1 on Sunday.
After going into the halftime break in a scoreless tie, junior forward Allison Akers of Houston, Texas, accepted a crossing pass from sophomore midfielder Sarah Uptmor from Cape Girardeau, Mo., and scored in the match's 55th minute to put the Badgers up 1-0.
Unfortunately, TMC (2-1) proved too strong on their home field in the latter stages of the match and pulled out the 2-1 decision.
"We controlled most of the game," said SHC Head Coach Christian DeVries. "But we just could not get the ball in the net."
Spring Hill (0-2) travels to Savannah, Ga., on Monday to face Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) starting at 1 p.m.
