CLEVELAND, Ga. - The Spring Hill College men's soccer team took a 4-3 road loss to Truett-McConnell College in overtime on Sunday afternoon.
John Tanner of Gulf Shores, Ala., opened the scoring for the Badgers in the 7th minute, but TMC answered with a goal by Renato Delgado in the 14th minute.
The Badgers and Bears would trade goals once more before half when Deven Arnold from Mobile's W.P. Davidson High scored in the 19th minute only to see TMC respond with a goal by Gavin Duff in the 24th minute to knot the score at 2-2 going into the half.
John Burke gave the Bears their first lead of the contest with a score in the 51st minute, but Spring Hill did not waiver and tied the game in the 86th minute with a goal by Gable Fortune of St. Louis, Mo., in the 86th minute.
The TMC Bears (4-4) would end the match in the 2nd minute of overtime when Delgado struck again with the game-winner.
Cory Bronenkamp of St. Louis collected seven saves against 25 shots for Spring Hill in the loss while Dan Dawson tallied five saves versus 16 Badger shots for TMC.
Spring Hill (1-5-1) will travel to Montgomery, Ala., on Friday to face NCAA Division III opponent Huntingdon College (1-3-1) at 4 p.m.
