The Spring Hill College volleyball team pushed its current winning streak to four matches with a 3-0 home victory over Concordia College-Selma on Tuesday evening. The Badgers took the match by the score of 25-5, 25-9, 25-17.
Freshman Savannah Simmons from Bayside Academy in Daphne, Ala., led the Badgers with six kills will Taryn Nash of Independence, Mo., handed out 19 assists. Freshman Susan Gilliland of Mobile's Baker High School served three service aces and hauled in 11 digs and nine receptions.
As a team, SHC tallied 34 kills for an attack percentage of .352, gave out 30 assists served up 15 aces, pulled in 34 digs and 27 receptions while registering five total team blocks.
Jasmine Walker had four of the Hornets' 14 kills and Gwendolyn Edwards had six of their 13 assists and 14 of their 52 receptions. In total, Concordia notched two aces with 28 digs and had one block by Elizabeth Gay.
SHC has not lost a set in over two weeks during its current hot streak.
Spring Hill (9-2, 1-1 SSAC) will next host a conference match with Faulkner University (9-10, 1-1 SSAC) from Montgomery on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
