NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Spring Hill College volleyball team took out Dillard University by a 3-0 score (25-18, 25-22, 25-19) in the final match of the Hampton Inn Wolfpack Invitational hosted by Loyola University at The Den on Saturday morning.

Spring Hill built a comfortable 10-4 lead in the first set when junior Yiting Cao of Shanghai, China, ran off a 5-point service string and then used a 4-point service run by freshman Taryn Nash of Independence, Mo., to closeout the set at 25-18.

The second set was a dogfight that saw neither side earn more than a 3-point advantage and was tied at 22 apiece before Spring Hill scored the final three points for the win.

Dillard (7-4) built out a 9-5 advantage in the third and final set, but the Badgers rallied back behind a 5-point service run by freshman Sha Sha Buchanan of Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School to grab a 19-15 lead.  A 3-point run off the serve of Nash made the score 23-18 in favor of SHC and proved to be the backbreaker for the Bleu Devils.

Junior Abbey Roam of Lebanon, Mo., scored 14 kills for SHC while Cao added 13 more. Cao also had 3 aces and nine digs as Nash handed out 34 assists to her fellow Badgers.

As a team SHC tallied 43 kills for a .367 attack percentage, six aces, 28 digs and four total team blocks.

Spring Hill (13-2) will return to New Orleans, La., on Wednesday to face Xavier University (4-11) in a non-conference match beginning at 6 p.m.
