FLORENCE, Ala. - The University of North Alabama Lady Lions (9-2) handed the Spring Hill College women's soccer team a 6-0 non-conference road loss Friday night at the UNA Soccer Field.
UNA (9-2) opened the scoring in the 9th minute of play when Chloe Roberts from Plymouth, England, scored off an assist by Jennifer Osmond of Southampton, England.
Roberts would then make the score 3-0 and complete the natural hat-trick in the 13th and 25th minutes when she scored her 17th and 18th goals of the season.
Jo Chubb of Crawley, England, tacked on a fourth goal in the 39th minute as Roberts added an assist to her stats on the play. Osmond would cap off the half in the 44th minute with her first goal of year via a header off a corner kick by Roberts to make it 5-0 at the intermission.
Beth Spurr scored Lion goal No. 6 in the 59th minute off an assist from Nikki Brown.
SHC goalkeepers Emma Pitchford and Cassandra Amore combined for two saves against 24 UNA shots while Alex McLay made two saves for UNA against four Badger shots. The Lions took nine corner kicks and allowed SHC one corner.
Spring Hill (3-8) will next travel to Nashville, Tenn., to face Trevecca Nazarene University (4-7-1) on Saturday at 6 p.m.
