MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Spring Hill College volleyball surpassed the 20-win mark for the first time since 2005 following a 3-0 conference road win at Faulkner University on Friday night. The Badgers swept to victory by the scores of 25-22, 25-9, 25-19.
Junior right side hitter Yiting Cao of Shanghai, China, led SHC with 14 kills and a service ace while freshman setter Taryn Nash of Independence, Mo., handed out 28 assists.
Freshman libero Meredith Donald from Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School pulled in 16 digs and 15 receptions for the Badger defense.
All told, the Badgers rang up 43 kills, a .317 attack percentage, 35 assists, seven aces, 59 digs, 44 receptions and three total blocks in the contest.
The win gives the Badgers a regular season two-match series sweep of the Eagles (11-17, 1-4 SSAC). It was also the 15th consecutive overall win for SHC and their eighth consecutive shutout.
Spring Hill (20-2, 3-1 SSAC) will be in New Orleans on Thursday at 6 p.m. to face the Southern University-New Orleans (SUNO) Lady Knights (5-7) in a non-conference match at The Castle.
