NEW ORLEANS, La. - Spring Hill College volleyball swept a 3-0 decision away from the Lady Knights of Southern University-New Orleans (SUNO) by the score of 25-15, 25-12, 25-11 on Thursday night at The Castle.
Junior right side hitter Yiting Cao of Shanghai, China, set the pace for the Badgers offensively and scored 12 kills and pulling in nine digs while freshman setter Taryn Nash of Independence, Mo., gave out 29 assists.
Freshman libero Meredith Donald of Mobile's McGill-Toolen also had nine digs on defense as the Badgers stuffed an impressive total of 11 team blocks at the net.
SUNO fell to 6-10 on the season.
This was the Badgers 16th consecutive win on the season and their ninth consecutive shutout.
Spring Hill (21-2, 3-1 SSAC) will host Belhaven University (9-11, 0-4 SSAC) in a conference match at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Saturday at 3 p.m. The match will also be the Badgers' annual "Dig Pink" event to raise support for the prevention of Breast Cancer. All gate and concessions proceeds will be donated to the fight against Breast Cancer. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and donations to Breast Cancer Research will be accepted.
