MADISON, Miss. - The Spring Hill College men's golf team finished in 5th place out of 14 teams after the final round of the Lake Caroline Collegiate Invitational hosted by Belhaven University at Lake Caroline Golf Course on Tuesday.
 
The Badgers moved up one spot to take the 5th place finish with a final round of 306 on Tuesday after posting a Day 1 round of 314 that landed them in 6th position on Monday.
 
SHC shot a two-round team score of +44 (314, 306, 620) to finish 35 strokes behind the tournament's champion Meridian (Miss.) Community College that carded a +9 score of 585 (291, 294, 585).
 
Sophomore Joseph Webster of Trussville, Ala., was the top SHC finisher with a +10 score (74, 80, 154) and tied at 13th place out to 83 golfers. Senior Eddie Smith of Houston, Texas, shot a +11 (82, 73, 156) across the 6835-yard, par 72 course to finish tied for 19th place with fellow Badger senior Javier Portal of Miami, Fla. (78, 77).
 
Sophomore Nathan Ceille of Hales Corner, Wis., placed 22nd with a +12 (80, 76, 156) and junior Wyatt Esteves of New Orleans, La., recorded a score of +28 (88, 84, 172) to close out the scoring for SHC.
 
Shorter University's Arvid Bengtsson was the tournament's individual champion with an even par 144 (72, 72).
