On the final day of the regular season, the Spring Hill College volleyball team won the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) West Division Championship with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 27-25) decision over Belhaven University on Saturday afternoon.
 
Spring Hill's junior right side hitter Yiting Cao of Shanghai, China, scored 20 kills to go with two service aces and 15 receptions.
 
Freshman setter Taryn Nash of Independence, Mo., dished out 29 of the Badgers' 35 assists. Freshman libero Meredith Donald from Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High tallied 11 digs and 14 receptions.
 
As a team, the Badgers scored 46 total kills for an attack percentage of .370 and seven aces with 37 digs.
 
Belhaven (9-16, 0-8 SSAC) was led by Christina Atwood with 11 kills.
 
As the top seeded team from the West, Spring Hill (25-4, 7-1 SSAC) will begin play in the 2010 SSAC Championship Tournament versus the East Division's No. 4 seed Columbia College (S.C.) (15-13, 4-6 SSAC) on Friday in Gulfport, Miss.
