MARIETTA, Ga. - Spring Hill College women's soccer players won 10 postseason awards as announced by the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) offices on Monday.
 
Emma Pitchford, a senior goalkeeper from Ridgeland, Miss., was selected to the 2010 Musco Lighting Champions of Character Team by the head coaches of the conference teams.
 
Molly Cowley (left), a defender from Jefferson City, Mo., was named to the 2010 SSAC All Freshman Team.
 
Impressively, eight Badgers qualified for the 2010 SSAC Women's Soccer All Academic Team. Pitchford, along with junior forward Allison Akers of Houston, Texas, junior midfielder Elaine Femmer of St. Louis, Mo., midfielder Abby Galen of St. Louis, senior forward Jessica Makowski from Crestview, Fla., junior defender Lorie Pendergast of St. Louis, sophomore defender of Roswell, Ga., and senior forward Alex Tovar of Miami, Fla., each won accolades for their achievements in the classroom as well as on the soccer pitch.
