The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named Steve Edwards and Emily Williams as its Student-Athletes of the Week for their achievements during the week of November 8-14, 2010.
Edwards, a junior guard from Newton, Miss., came off the bench against the University of South Alabama to score 17 points, two rebounds and an assist for the Badgers on Friday night at the Mitchell Center. He shot 50% from the field (7-14) including three 3-point baskets.
Williams, an outside hitter from Mobile's Murphy High School and the lone senior on the Badger volleyball team this year, wrapped up her career with a total of 201 kills, an attack percentage of .125, 42 aces, 256 receptions, 339 digs and 46 total blocks. She averaged .89 kills, 1.28 receptions, 1.5 digs and 1.2 points per set over her 4-year career on The Hill. As a junior in 2009, she was also named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete.
