SELMA, Ala. - The Spring Hill College men's basketball team lost a road game versus the Concordia College-Hornets 65-62 in a non-conference contest at the Jenkins Center on Wednesday night.
Junior guard Steve Edwards of Newton, Miss., scored 21 points for the Badgers while senior center Nick Brown of Rota, Spain, added 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Jeremy Sturdivant led Concordia with 23 points and Wendall Maye had 11 points for the Hornets.
As a team, the Badgers shot 35% (21-60) and 19% (4-21) from 3-point territory. SHC committed 18 turnovers under the pressure of eight steals by Concordia. The Badgers also won the rebounding war with a resounding 54-26 total.
The Hornets were 37.3% (22-59) overall from the field and blistered the nets for a 10-of-29 (34.5%) performance in 3-point shots. Concordia turned the ball over just nine times as the Badgers pocketed six steals.
Spring Hill (5-4) will host non-conference rival Tougaloo College (10-3) this Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
